Note on Husband: Sidney LANDRAY (2)

Eileen McMullen recalls a story when Peck came round and knocked on Arthur's door one night asking for money. The next morning Arthur mentioned this to his brother who also confirmed a visit. Neither gave him money.

Peck needed it as he lost money on gambling (and wanted to hide the fact from Kelly).

Note on Wife: Caroline MORRIS (1)

Affectictionately known as "Kelly"

Note on Wife: Caroline MORRIS (2)

Caused the family "tension" between the Landray's and McMullens. It started when Isabella McMullen was born and in a pram in the garden at Hamworthy.

Eileen McMullen wanted to see her cousin, so stood up on the pram and looked in the pram. Kelly (Caroline Landray) said to Eileen "Get your bloody dirty hands off" and told the child off. Maud McMullen overheard this and told Caroline Landray that "she shouldn't speak to a child like that".

This was the beginning of the family "tension" and forced Ernest Frank McMullen to support his wife (and indirectly Caroline).

The reality was that Frank didn't really speak to his sister much ever again, and later regretted backing his mother-in-law and "losing" his sister.
